John Feldsted … grew up in a conservative family with a deep interest in arts, history, law, and where reading was a requisite to education.

I have actively participated in politics at the civic, provincial and federal levels in several provinces.  I was a founding member of the Reform Party, and transitioned from Reform, Alliance to the CPC. I have attended many conventions, and spent over 35 years on various riding association boards, and worked on and run several election campaigns.

I am steadfastly conservative although various conservative parties are not. I strongly believe that the best defense for democracy is an informed electorate. I speak my piece, as I see it, and let the chips fall where they may. Many readers disagree with some of my commentary, which is good, as they are more aware of issues.
